Lane Regional Medical Center
An organizational meeting to establish a general acute care hospital in the northern part of East Baton Rouge parish was
held in February 1957, and four months later, Hospital Service District #1 was created. When Lane opened in November, 1960, They were a 40-bed acute care not-for-profit hospital. Lane Regional Medical Center has continued to grow over the years by expanding facilities, updating technology, and offering new services.
Lane Regional Medical Center is governed by a board of nine commissioners who are appointed by the Metropolitan Council
of East Baton Rouge Parish. The hospital is an equal opportunity employer, staffed by approximately 700 employees. Lane Regional Medical Center has an annual payroll of over $16 million.
