Classic

January 10th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad

Originally, Classic was known locally only as Classic Tour Helicopters. It provided scenic flights for paying customers over Bryce Canyon. Knowing of the chartered resource in the area, the National Park Service would often call for air transport service from Lake Powell when an individual’s injuries and/or location warranted a more efficient method of extraction than the standard boat and ambulance.

Classic has developed extensively since the beginning and they will continue to progress and improve along with this rapidly evolving industry. Their flight numbers are increasing every year. This is a trend they anticipate will continue. They now operate 2 helicopters 24 hours a day 365 days a year and may be adding a local short to mid-range fixed wing aircraft to expand their capabilities in the next few months. They are employing new crew members to meet these expanding roles.

Medic Rescue

January 9th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad

Medic Rescue was established in October 1978 when County Ambulance Service closed its doors. It was a crisis situation when County Ambulance folded, leaving the 28 municipalities it had served wondering what would happen. Medic Rescue is the provider of emergency medical services serving communities of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Based in Bridgewater PA, they are a non-profit ambulance company, staffed by 152 paramedics, emergency medical technicians and wheelchair van personnel plus 25 support personnel.

At that time, County Ambulance responded to 68% of all Beaver County ambulance calls. Representatives of the health, business, and public safety communities stepped forward to create Non-Profit Emergency Services of Beaver County, doing business as Medic Rescue, a name coined by ambulance personnel during the beginning crisis hours. When it was apparent that County Ambulance was going to close, Dr. Joe Fortuna began negotiating to buy it.
